Post Graduation & Resting Period

I finally did it. I finally completed my Photography program at the University of North Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography! Words couldn’t express how happy, thrilled and relieved I was for me to finally be done with college.

But at the same time. . .I’m nervous. Nervous of what lies ahead for me now. Nervous about repaying back student loans. Nervous about how I’m going to be able to move out of my parents’ house and finally live on my own (hopefully that’s somewhere out of Florida state).

I have one week of vacation before I start working full-time at the restaurant and I’ve been trying to relax and rejuvenate as much as possible. This has been rather difficult due to being surrounded by three other people constantly and the Christmas shopping season in full swing. Plus, the colder temperatures in Florida aren’t helping in the slightest.

And let’s not even talk about my financial issues I’m facing. But I like to think that I have a clearer idea on how to tackle it and save up a load of money for bigger plans.

So today, after consulting my favorite Bella Grace magazine, I decided to make today a spa day of sorts. I fired up my electric wax warmer with a Yankee Candle wax tart in a refreshing scent and soaked my tiny feet in warm, bubbly water with Epsom salt. I even decided to create a scrub to use on my body and my lips while showering. The recipe is simple: a little virgin coconut oil here, some cane sugar there and a dash of an essential oil blend.

All of that seemed to really help and I feel better for now. I’ve even did a bit of budgeting in my financial notebook for tomorrow’s check. I’m not so sure I’ll do any Christmas shopping though; I’m more concerned about saving up rather than spending away. Plus, Christmas shopping felt like Black Friday Part 2 to me, but just not as crazy as the actual Black Friday itself.

It’s a slow progress, but I’m training myself to slow down and take things easy. Since I don’t have much to do for now, this mentality seems to come along much easier for me. It just takes time.
